What we collect when you upload a manuscript, and why.
Who we are
Vybology Books. Contact: vybology@vybologybooks.com. We are the controller of your data.
What we collect
- Your name and email address.
- Your book's title and author name, and your voice and package choices.
- The manuscript file you upload. It may contain details about you or other people; we use it only to make your audiobook.
- That you confirmed you own the audio rights and understand the narration is a digital voice, and the date of that wording.
Why
To make your audiobook, to contact you about it, and to submit it to the audio stores you asked for. The legal basis is taking the steps you ask for before a contract, and then the contract itself.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare: hosting, the upload, file storage and the spam check (Turnstile, which looks at your IP address and browser).
- Resend: the emails about your upload.
- The voice software we use: turning your text into audio.
- Authors Republic and the stores you chose: publishing your audiobook.
Some of these companies are in the United States, so your data may be handled outside the UK under their safeguards.
Your manuscript
We never sell it, never share it except to make and publish your audiobook, and never use it to train AI.
How long
We keep your manuscript only as long as we need it to make and publish your audiobook. Email us at any time to have it deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing vybology@vybologybooks.com. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
